Earring Collection Launch: Part 3

We are thrilled to finally announce the launch of our new collection of contemporary wood earrings. These new styles have been in the works for quite some time now, but due to the unique combination of wood and metal on such a small scale, there were several design challenges faced along the way.  Nevertheless, we are thrilled with the final outcome and are so excited to share them with you now.

This collection of earrings was designed to be unique, timeless, minimal and versatile. They are pieces that can be worn everyday, can be paired with any other style of jewelry and classic enough to be kept forever. 

The third style we will explore in this collection is the Tri Stud

The tri stud is a new design shape for us here at L&L. The angular shape of these triangular wood earrings gives them a very contemporary and edgy feel.  These studs measure 10mm wide, 9mm tall and 2.5mm thick.  The base of the earring is .925 (sterling) silver and is then plated in 14k gold or rhodium, depending on the silver or gold version. A piece of Pau Ferro wood is cut, sanded smooth to the touch and then coated with a natural oil. It is then set in the centre of the earring, surrounded by a beautiful border of shiny metal. The earring post is made of stainless steel, which is hypoallergenic and reduces any risks of ear sensitivity while wearing the earrings.  The overall dimensions make for a relatively small earring that still has beautiful dimension. This scale also allows for the wood to be very present, but still subtle enough that it doesn't overpower the design. The Tri Stud offers a clean, sophisticated look with a very subtle touch of symbolism in the wood.
